The Six Reasons Why You Should Choose the Monte Design Glider
Introduction
Handmade in Canada by the Monte Design Group, the Glider is a very comfortable and elegantly designed glider with fabric that can be customized to suit your individual taste. Using an easy to clean, water-repellent, and stain-resistant suede microfiber upholstery, their glider offers a high back providing welcome head and neck support. Great for nursing, this chair may also become your favorite reading spot for years to come.
The market today is swamped with low-cost, low-quality chairs, some of which are modeled after Monte's look and design. When deciding which brand to purchase as a consumer, it is critical to look closely before making a selection. The following are the top six reasons why you should pick the Monte design glider.
1. Made in Canada
One of the more important factors to consider when purchasing a glider or rocker (or anything for that matter) is where it’s made. Why? Safety and quality. Not only are goods often made more cheaply when they’re manufactured outside of North America or Europe, but they may also be manufactured under fewer safety regulations.
At Monte Design not only are our products fully manufactured in Canada, but even the materials that we use are sourced in Canada, U.S.A or Europe. Here’s a list of the major materials that are used in Monte products and where they come from.
Parts | Come From |
Wooden Frame |

Glider Mechanism | Made in U.S.A |
High Gauge Springs | Made in U.S.A |

2. High Grade High Density 2.5lb Foam
All foam is not created equal. There is high density high grade foam vs low density low grade foam, locally made foam vs imported foam, FR foam vs non-FR Foam (flame retardant). They may all look the same and feel the same, but their cost, performance and safety vary significantly. A lower cost foam may flatten like a pancake after short-term use while a more expensive foam will perform well through the next couple decades. At Monte the foam is always high grade high density 2.5lb foam, is locally made and is free of any flame-retardant chemicals. If you’re buying a cheap glider, you’re probably getting cheap foam.
3. Italian Made Natural Cotton/Linen Fabrics and Wool Blends
Monte offers customers a range of Oeko-Tex 100 certified fabric options including stain-resistant water repellent polyester fabrics and Italian made natural cotton/linen fabrics and wool blends. For those looking for a premium and natural option the cotton/linen fabrics are a great choice – not typically available on low-cost, low-quality gliders or rockers.
4. ECO-Friendly
The Monte Design takes minimizing its carbon footprint on the environment as well as minimizing people's exposure to unhealthy, toxic materials very seriously. They've even created separate pages on their website for outlining their sustainability protocols, as well as on their superior craftsmanship.
The highlights of their high-level sustainability and craftsmanship include using: natural seed-based oils for their foam; LEED-certified wood adhesives; Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood; fabrics and threads manufactured according to the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100; gliding and reclining mechanisms made of 95% recycled steel, free of lead-based paint or finishes and low-solvent, water-based paints as well as no-solvent powder coating materials; and shipped in boxes made from over 95% recycled materials.
5. Wooden Frame
Working with local frame builders allows Monte Design to closely check our inventory to ensure that it consistently meets our high standards for quality, which is one of the benefits of doing business with them. Every completed project will have a solid basis as a result. Additionally, all of the wood we use complies with the LEED Rating System's criteria for wood adhesives (no added urea formaldehyde), and the glue we use to assemble our frames is water-based and biodegradable.
6. Skilled Labor
One of Monte Design's biggest accomplishments has been assembling a group of exceptionally talented upholsterers, seamstresses, and warehousing personnel. Their crew is unmatched in terms of talent, and Monte has very high standards for creating a top-notch product. Information about the finished goods includes:

Solid sides and back | Next time you’re checking out a competitor’s glider or rocker, knock on the sides and back of the chair. They’re typically hollow. Monte chairs incorporate more frame with finished sides and back. |

• Skin Type:
Not all products apply to every skin type. Few infants have totally dry skin, on the other hand few others have oily skin. So it is significant to address the right skin type.
Go through the product description and the disclaimer. Get to know if the chosen product suits your baby’s skin. Make sure the product doesn’t create any damage to your baby’s skin.
• Quality:
Getting a quality product is an important factor to be considered. Every brand is associated with some quality trust on various stands. Make sure the product you choose doesn’t involve much chemical influence.
It should be free from paraben, alcohol, sulfate, and other chemicals. Check if the chosen product is cruelty-free. The product must be clinically proven or dermatologically approved for babies.
• Price:
The amount of money you invest in your baby’s care is important. Your budget matters when you settle down on some product. You might not be satisfied with some products being expensive.
You just have to look into the product outcome and the price simultaneously. You decide if the amount paid is worthwhile.
