UPPAbaby MESA Max vs. MESA V2
Introduction
UPPAbaby currently provides two infant car seats noted for their safety and convenience of use: the MESA V2 base model and the enhanced MESA Max.
The two versions share characteristics like as easy installation and compatibility with all UPPAbaby strollers, but the main variations are the bases that come with each seat.
The MESA V2 has the same base as the original MESA, but the MESA Max has a redesigned foundation with two leading safety features: a steel-reinforced load leg and an anti-rebound panel. Both characteristics help to support the base in the case of an accident, reducing movement and preventing head and neck injuries.
In this comparison, we will look at the features and differences of the UPPAbaby MESA Max and MESA V2.
Weight and Specifications
All UPPAbaby infant car seats—the MESA Max and MESA V2—weigh less than 10 pounds.
While the carriers are the same size and weight, the MESA Max has a heavier base due to the addition of a load leg and an anti-rebound bar. If you regularly change vehicles, the MESA V2 base may be preferable because to its less weight and smaller footprint.
All Two car seat types can be used until your baby is 32 inches tall or 35 pounds, which is usually around her first birthday.

Safety and Installation Features
The steel-reinforced load leg in the base of the UPPAbaby MESA Max gives it more safety features than the MESA V2.
According to studies, the top safety feature in infant car seats, a load leg, lowers the incidence of head and neck injuries by 46%. The leg stabilizes the seat and stops it from twisting or rebounding against your vehicle seat back in a front crash by extending from the base to the floor of your automobile.
In addition, the MESA Max base has a second safety feature not found on the MESA V2 base: an anti-rebound panel on the base's opposite side that prevents the seat from moving in rear collisions.
All car seats are among the easiest to install—a safety feature in itself, considering that nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
How to Install

Any MESA model can be quickly installed, and there are useful signs to let you know whether the installation is secure.
Check the bubble on the MESA Max or the indication on the side of the MESA V2 to see if the car seat is level before proceeding.
Release the LATCH connectors by pressing the orange buttons, then fasten them to the car anchors. When you press down on the base, indications turn from red to green and the connectors automatically tighten for a solid fit.
For the MESA Max, extend the load leg all the way to the ground and make sure it is positioned correctly by looking for the green indicators at the top and bottom of the leg.
Additionally, all MESA models can be set up using simply the seatbelt, letting you to dispense with the bulky base when taking public transportation and taxis.
The vehicle seatbelt is threaded over and under the seat with the MESA Max and MESA V2's European-style installation. In order to avoid rebounding, the carry handle can also swivel forward.

Whether you're protecting your kid from the sun or onlookers while he's sleeping, the MESA Max maximizes protection.
While the MESA V2 canopy stretches about halfway across the seat, the MESA Max canopy provides nearly full coverage. When not in use, both canopies fold into the carrier and are both bigger than the canopy on the original MESA—by 20% for the MESA V2 and by 43% for the MESA Max.
MESA Max vs. UPPAbaby MESA V2 Headrest and Harness
The MESA Max and MESA V2 have larger, revised headrests than the MESA, providing both additional comfort and side impact protection.
Unlike the original MESA insert, which could only be used until a newborn weighed 8 pounds, the infant inserts for the MESA Max and MESA V2 can be used until a baby weighed 11 pounds. The new insert has side wings to ensure appropriate alignment and is curved to be more supportive for a baby.

| Mode | | |
| Infant Insert Use | 4-11 pounds | 4-11 pounds |
| Harness and Headrest | No-rethread with infinite adjustments | No-rethread with three headrest positions |
